SMS/MMS for Charity
Fundraising through SMS is an interesting concept which has been
tried and proven successful in Singapore, UK, Australia, and
many other countries. MOZAT M2U system is no doubt the best
solution for such campaigns.
For example, sports fans in Australian football games will be
reminded to send money through SMS during the game halftime, for
cancer charity. A community service ad will appear on Telstra
Dome's screen twice at halftime. An automated SMS thank-you
message will acknowledge the pledge and donors will be called
back a couple of days later to arrange the payment.
A new mobile lottery game was launched in UK, aimed to
generate extra funds for a cancer research and a charity which
helps underprivileged children. Under the scheme, players are
asked to register once by sending "Manchester" to a number, and
then each week they will receive a free text message asking them
how many of the £1 tickets they want. If they are not interested
they simply do not reply.
Another charity is launching an SMS campaign called the
School Bag Project, to raise money for needy school children and
provide them with a yearly supply of pens and notebooks. Random
messages inviting support for the project have been sent out
through SMS. To donate, mobile users simply need to reply to the
text message which would be billed to them at a premium rate via
their cell phone bills.
SMS/MMS for Religion
An Israeli company is offering Jews around the world the option
to send their prayers by SMS (for a fee about $1.20) to a rabbi,
who prints them out and places them in Jerusalem's Western Wall.
So far over 30,000 text messages have been received, according
to IOL.
A Polish mobile operator and publisher is inviting Catholics
to SMS their best wishes to celebrate 25th anniversary of the
pontificate that will be made into a book and delivered to the
Pope.
In UK, a new campaign for raising money to mobilize against
poverty, offers verses of the Bible by SMS message at a premium
rate. It aims to recruit tens of thousands of users, and to give
all profits towards work with the poorest communities in the
world. Bible verses are delivered in text format for 15p a day.
Subscribers can sign up for themselves and their family and
friends, aiming to raise £1 million in profit through 50,000
users.
MOZAT M2U series product is one of the simplest, quickest,
and the most cost-effective way to maintain a secure up-to-date
database for church members. You can create a highly interactive
e-Calendar with M2U system, allowing people to enquire on the
schedule of any church event (e.g. Bible Study Fellowship,
Worship Team Rehearsal, Cell and Small Group Ministries, etc.)
by sending keywords through SMS, and receive immediate reply
anywhere and anytime. With M2U, you may also combine an SMS/MMS
with a pre-recorded voice message or sound file to deliver
interactive greeting messages and reminders, either for daily
greetings or special events (e.g. wedding ceremony, anniversary
party, etc.).
SMS/MMS to Track Criminals
Police forces can receive pictures of suspects on their mobile
phones, enabling them to take immediate action instead of
waiting for a file to be dispatched through postal or fax. Such
system could also be useful in tracing missing children where
speed is essential. MOZAT M2U provides the right solution for
these issues.
SMS/MMS for Community Library
Libraries are constantly looking for ways to communicate
instantly with their users in a manner the library users can
relate to, with a greater accuracy and "call-to-action" than
printed notices. SMS messaging is rapidly being accepted as a
modern replacement for traditional notification methods. Text
messaging is also more cost-effective than postage and will
encourage the younger library users to the library by
communicating at their level.
MOZAT M2U system automates the delivery of standard library
notices, and is simple to use for multiple automated messages.
Whether it is an overdue item advice or a reserved item ready to
collect, M2U creates better, faster, and more targeted
communication service for libraries, whilst reducing costs and
increasing productivity. The library notice types that are
commonly sent via SMS are:
- Overdue items
- Reservation/Hold notice
- Item recalls
Thousands of dollars could be saved per annum by integrating
MOZAT M2U system into the existing database to deliver all types
of library notices by SMS. |
